Hundreds of abortion rights supporters gathered on Capitol Hill Wednesday, vowing to keep the Senate health bill from having the same restrictions on abortion coverage as the House-passed version.
A sea of pink shirts and signs filled the auditorium of the Dirksen Senate office building as the Senate continued with its third day of debate on the sweeping health bill.
Planned Parenthood Hosts Free Health Week

From Nov. 9 to Nov. 14, the borough’s Planned Parenthood office will host Free Health Week. During this time, new clients can come in with or without an appointment and get a free blood-pressure screening and free Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing. Also, women can get a free annual exam.
Free Health Week follows an open house held on Oct. 29 to discuss what Planned Parenthood offers the community.

Aretha Hill-Forte has seen some of the worst symptoms of breast cancer at her free clinic, which screens more patients than almost any hospital in the state.
She sees women without health insurance who have put off mammograms until their tumors grew to the size of a fist, protruding into clothes. Their skin, now infected, has turned orange, and wounds have appeared.

Planned Parenthood Association of the Mercer Area recently joined hundreds of organizations across the nation to promote and provide HIV testing and information in recognition of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, a nationwide community mobilization campaign seeking to raise the visibility of HIV/AIDS within the Latino community.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey applied this week for the federal government's permission to offer free family planning services to about 70,000 residents who do not have medical insurance but do not qualify for subsidized care.
At a Planned Parenthood office on Tuesday, Gov. Jon Corzine touted the step as a key to fill in a health-coverage gap.
