About Us
Planned Parenthood Affiliates of New Jersey is our statewide public affairs office. Its role is to enhance our ability to protect reproductive freedom, and to insure access to reproductive health care to all New Jerseyans, regardless of individual circumstance.
We are:
Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey
Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey
Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey
Planned Parenthood Association of the Mercer Area
Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey
WE SERVE! Collectively, we operate 31 health centers around the state that provide high-quality, affordable medical care to approximately 85,500 patients each year. These services include comprehensive gynecological care, birth control services, pregnancy testing, first-trimester abortion, STD testing and treatment, pre-natal care, primary care and cancer screenings. Since not all services are available at each location, it’s best to check before making an appointment. In addition, each of our agencies employs trained educators who conduct extensive community outreach and educational programs, offering comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education and health programs to thousands of New Jersey residents every year. We welcome everyone – regardless of race, age, income, sexual orientation, or disability. Our fees are based on the ability to pay and no one is turned away.
WE SPEAK OUT! What many people don’t know, however, is that Planned Parenthood also conducts an active advocacy program in the New Jersey Legislature and in the United States Congress, including grassroots organizing and media outreach. Why do we do this? Because your ability to make reproductive choices and get the full range of reproductive health care is in serious danger. Right now, there are bills pending on both the state and federal level that would seriously limit your freedom of choice. Planned Parenthood is working hard to guarantee reproductive rights. However, we can’t do it without you.
WE HELP! Use this website as your resource. Everything you need to make your voice be heard is here. Educate yourself on legislation being considered in Congress and the State Legislature. Know the effects these proposals will have on your rights and your health. Learn how to be an advocate for choice. And then, speak out to defend your rights!
